Andy, Sarah and Myron fished the Innoko River recently, and had one of their best pike fishing days ever. In less than 2 hours they landed 7 pike over 20 pounds, the biggest pictured above at 24 pounds. The smallest was about 8 pounds, which became dinner along with Don Lehmann’s sweet corn and Sue's home made rhubarb pie.

Old guys shouldn’t try to sprint. Myron took part in several events at the Iowa Senior Olympics this summer. Some were easy, like the football throw for accuracy (bronze medal). Others were harder (three on three basketball, two losses but a silver medal because there were only two teams) This event, the 50 meter dash, was painful. Second place was well within reach with a few yards to go, so of course there was the final hard push for the tape. A significant leg cramp intervened, and the results were recorded on camera by Sue, who held her laughing until there was some indication of life. No medal.
